BioDuro Series
The BioDuro series consist of robust biomaterials made for both hobbyists and professionals. Unlike most other biomaterials, these are designed to have greater toughness without sacrificing mechanical strength. These materials are food contact approved*, capable of high-speed printing and have UV stable colors.
PLA bioplastic for 3D printing is made from sustainable plant materials, such as corn or sugar cane. It prints at relatively low temperatures and typically does not require a heated print bed surface. Its strength and ease of printing make it suitable for hobbyists and professionals alike. BioDuro PLA’s lower melting point makes it suitable for a form of casting similar to “lost wax” casting, allowing makers to create molds to cast molten metals. Fortis3D offers BioDuro filament in solid or metallic versions in several colors.
